Getting started

Create an account

  1. Go to Register.
  2. Enter your name, email address, and password.
  3. Sign in from Login.
  4. Open your Dashboard.

Google sign-in is available when it is enabled for the platform.

  1. Open Dashboard.
  2. Enter the destination URL.
  3. Create the generated short link, or open Customize alias and advanced options if you want a custom ending such as spring-offer.
  4. Choose a verified branded domain when one is available.
  5. Submit the form and copy the short link.

If you do not enter a custom ending, URLNow creates one for you.

You can also add an expiration date or password when a link should stop working later or require a visitor password.

Create a tracked QR code

  1. Open Dashboard.
  2. Choose the QR Code tab.
  3. Enter the destination URL.
  4. Generate the QR code.
  5. Download the image, copy it, or copy the short link behind the QR code.

QR scans are counted in analytics because every QR code points to a URLNow short link.

Choose a custom ending

Custom endings should be concise, readable, and relevant to the destination or campaign.

Examples:

  • spring-offer
  • acme-demo
  • newsletter-may

Custom endings can use letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores. They must be unique.

On the public short-link form, custom endings are optional and appear under Customize alias and advanced options. Leave that panel closed when you want URLNow to create the ending for you.

Manage your profile page

Your profile page lets you claim a username, add a short bio, and share multiple links from one page.

Use Profile settings to create and edit it. Profile publishing is optional: keep the page private while you prepare it, then make it public when it is ready to share.

Usernames must be at least 4 characters and can use letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores.

URLNow recognizes common social and creator platforms from each destination URL and displays the matching platform icon automatically.

After sharing the page, choose View analytics in Profile settings to review views, estimated visitors, traffic sources, and outbound link clicks.

Use Analytics or the dashboard analytics pages to review link activity.

Analytics show:

  • How many times a link was opened.
  • How many scans came from tracked QR codes.
  • Which devices and browsers visitors used.
  • Which websites or campaigns sent visitors to your links.
  • Whether activity came from people or automated traffic.

Use Customize on analytics pages to choose the widgets, density, and scale that fit your workflow. Some analytics tables can also be downloaded as CSV files.

Create a team workspace

Use Organizations when links belong to a team instead of only your personal workspace.

From the organizations page, you can create a workspace, switch between personal and team workspaces, review workspace status, and open links, settings, members, analytics, branded-domain tools, and an optional organization profile.

Request developer access

If you need to connect another app to URLNow, open the Developer console and submit an access request.

After approval, you can create and manage developer keys from the developer console. Developer keys are used only for approved short-link creation.
